Hi, I’m biff!

I’m a fossil collector based in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

One of my first passions as a kid was paleontology, especially the prehistoric seas. I grew up near the beach in South Florida and spent as much time as I could with the ocean. I moved to Philly in 2006, and I still get to the water whenever I can, whether it’s Jersey or Delaware.

I started collecting fossils in the fall of 2023, after spotting a particularly stunning ‘heartbreaker’ megalodon tooth online. I didn’t end up studying paleontology, but I love learning and this hobby is fascinating.

Bad Hammer Fossils is about sharing my love for these ancient things, from sharks’ teeth to snake vertebrae, from species that existed 400+ million years ago to those still roaming the Earth today.
